Day 2: Happy Valentines Day

I'm glad and upset at the same time that it is Valentines Day.

I'm in a relationship, but my boyfriend lives in MO. It is kinda dissapointing :/

BUT all my friends (single and ones in long distance relationships) have decided to go to Hooters for dinner tonight, so that will make up for all of this.

I have been noticing on my facebook that EVERYONE seems to think V-day is overrated.

Personally I think it has been very corny to some extent. It should just be a day spend with the one you love or even a best friend. A Valentine can really be anyone, just ask a friend (or even a foe and make a truce :] )

So today's question is:

What is your opinion on V-day? Should people really shun it out if they don't have someone for it?

Also, add in what you are doing for Valentines day....Maybe some of us will get some ideas for next year!!

Peaceee

i would like valentine's day if i weren't so single. just like i don't like to see couples PDA'ing but if i were in a relationship i probably would be hugging and kissing and holding hands in public just like all the couples that currently annoy me. but today my friend was my valentine and we went out to eat and go shopping, so i wasn't completely lonely. i just hope whoever invented this holiday had to spend at least one valentine's day feeling lonely b/c it is definitely difficult if you do not have a significant other.

i think no matter if u have some one r u dont have someone u should make the best of it because if u think about it the holiday is about ppl that love u and the ppl u love so u always have someone eather it being your better half are a friend r a familey member so make the best of it r leave the ppl that r having a good time alone because they dont deserve to have a bad time just because u are.

and i dint do much for V-day baecause my perfect beautiful girlfriend is in az but i worked out with the football team then i went to the hosbital beacuse i broke my hand but after i got out i hung out with my friends

love u babe great job with the blog keep it up

Valentines Day may seem overrated, but it's about love right? What is love? We love our partners, our family, our friends, and even food, but we should also love ourselves at an individual level. How can you "love" the people around you if you aren't truly happy with the way you are?

Valentines Day is a day to reflect on your love for not only the ones you love and care for, but also for yourself. After all, there is a direct correlation between your ability to love yourself and your ability to love the people and things around you.

So for those of you who are single and find the day depressing, you shouldn't because there are people you love and people that love you. It's just another day, specifically for expressing love towards those you care for in life.
